Description of Action

Business Tax Receipts (BTR) registrations are mailed in July for the fiscal year starting October 1st.  BTR allows the City to obtain annual information from all businesses to facilitate public safety inspections including Code Compliance and, more recently, annual Fire Inspections.

 

BTR adjustments are permitted to be adjusted by 5% only once in every 2 year period.  The last City adjustment was done in 2008.  The Administration recommends a 5% adjustment to BTR rates for the coming year as provided by State Statute.

Fiscal Impact/Cost Summary
